Introduction | Doris, Daisy, Dixie, Daphne, Dorothy, Dorkas, Dacia and Dakota are a group of time-ladies sent to scintillate the ears with all fine music from the 1920s-1960s. Armed with gingham, bunting and confectionary and often joined by their trusty accomplice and filmmaker Film Ficciones; whose visuals add a bizarre backdrop to the night, the Sugarfoot collective have played at numerous events and festivals including The Flatpack Festival, Supersonic, The Secret Garden Party, Green Man, Mostly Jazz and The Cheltenham Jazz Festival. During their thirteen year reign, not only have the gals become well established in Birmingham but they have also played in various venues throughout the land. As early pioneers of nights specialising in old music, the Stompers were featured in a 2005 edition of Dazed and Confused magazine. The ladies have been spinning tracks in all manner of places across Britain such as subways, country manors, art galleries and even the oldest working cinema in the UK. |
