VIM Belfast Peace Project
My blogs
| Introduction | For ten years our Volunteers In Mission (VIM) Belfast Peace Project teams have visited Forthspring Intercommunity Group located at the former Springfield Road Methodist Church. With the closing of Springfield Road Church we began visiting and worshipping at Woodvale Methodist Church during our time in Northern Ireland. We value the developing relationship we have with the Woodvale Congregation and would like to continue developing it by attending and participating in the worship services. Volunteers In Mission (VIM) is administered by the United Methodist Church and the General Board of Global Ministries. VIM trips fall into three major types: Medical, Construction and Community Development. Since 2006 a VIM Team has visited Forthspring Intercommunity Group in Belfast. The Teams have helped develop, maintain and improve the buildings and grounds. The Teams also worked with community groups and met with leaders of Peace and Reconciliation groups including Rev. Harold Good, and the late Fr. Gerry Reynolds. |
