| Introduction | Educated in Fine Art and and sculptural textiles, I now teach and create work in Suffolk. I am inspired by aspects of the coastline and sea life in the use of textures, colours and structures. This includes hand felted cuffs, scarves, bowls, organic wall hangings and textile artwork incorporating silk threads and organza, embellished with embroidery, beads and buttons.Sculptural jewellery is crafted from merino wool and silk tops using wet and dry felting techniques. Woven copper wire work with beads, gems and buttons is created in the form of a flexible net to take on fluctuating forms. Small scale brightly coloured copper wire sculptures are influenced by lobster pots and fishing nets. Paintings are created in response to sea life and the coastal landscape. |
