| Introduction | Mandy Kay is an award-winning marketing professional, as well as noted author of “The Tripping Point: Surviving Tumbles into Canals from San Antonio to St. Petersburg,” and other travel memoirs. Mandy attended the University of Michigan, but never got the memo from administration explaining that you could leave Ann Arbor after graduation. She is the mother of The Button, a frighteningly well-adjusted teenager (there’s probably a pod somewhere), and spends a disproportionate amount of her discretionary budget on restaurants, theater, and entertainment within the I-94/US23/M-14 perimeter. In fact, other than DTW, Mandy is woefully ignorant of Michigan resources outside of the loop, and considers a night at the Corner Brewery in Ypsilanti a major excursion. |
