| Interests | spending time with God, horseback riding, spending time with friends, spending time with family, reading, piano, art, cake decorating, trying new things, collecting quotes, theater, collages, traveling and missions, listening to music, seeing beauty in creation, digital photography, history, historical costuming, procrastinating on projects ;-), ... |
| Favorite movies | recent fave: Fireproof! It gave me so many lessons on how NOT to handle my marraige. (that is, my hypothetical future marraige. ;-) ) Others: Expelled, Chronicles of Narnia, The Lion the witch and the wardrobe, Princess Diaries 1+2, The princess and the barrio boy,(one of the sweetest stories I have seen in a movie, next to Fireproof) Princess Bride, (yes, there is a theme here) Black Stallion, Young Black Stallion, (return of the black stallion, was in my opinion, inferior to these two) The Andy Griffith show, ;-) dramatizations of Janette Oke's Love Comes Softly series. dramatizations of Jane Austen's works. Freaky Friday, Could Have Been Outstanding without the obligatory PG-13 stuff included: Sweet Home Alabama, 50 First Dates, Never Been Kissed, Mrs. Doubtfire, Juno, The Devil Wears Prada, Get Smart |
| Favorite music | everything ;-) (almost, anyway!) everything from classical piano and ragtime to Britt Nicole and Rebecca St.James. Recently I've come to appreciate bluegrass a little more than I did... and another genre recently discovered, Celtic. While I'm writing this, dad has one of my all-time favorite songwriters on the CD player- Chris Rice. He does christian music (like The Cartoon Song, which is totally hilarious) and is also a tremendous pianist. |
| Favorite books | Alphabetical by author? seriously, such a list is a total impossibility. Here are several that I've read in the last few months (as of April 19 2009) and enjoyed. Edge of Eternity,by Randy Alcorn. novel/allegory Sense and Sensibility, Jane Austen. -hopefully everyone knows Jane Austen! Do Hard Things, Alex and Brett Harris (their brother Josh wrote the popular book that has caused so much controversy in Christian circles- "I kissed Dating goodbye" - and its sequel, "Boy Meets Girl") -nonfiction book encouraging teens to get up and make a difference and not settle for the easy road. Along Came A Cowboy, Christine Lynxiler. a little less serious, this book is a romance. In my defense, that isn't the main focus of the book! It's a sweet story. :-) |
