| Introduction | Dain Olsen is a national leader in arts education and a specialist in media arts education. He is author of the book, "Media Arts Education: Transforming Education Through Multimodal Cognition..." He currently serves as President /CEO of the National Association for Media Arts Education, and is a member of the Governance Committee for the National Coalition for Core Arts Standards. He has led a national initiative to establish media arts across the U.S. He was previously the Chair of the Media Arts Standards Writing Team for NCCAS, and served on the Media Arts Advisory Committees for California’s new Arts Standards and Framework. Dain led the development and establishment of media arts in LAUSD as a separate content discipline, including distinct pedagogy, descriptors, standards, curricula, and courses. As part of this groundbreaking initiative, he administered a demonstration program of regional classrooms at 8 middle and high schools. In addition, Dain has developed and administrated 7 other media arts programs, magnets, and CTE career pathways at various middle and high schools.
