| Introduction | Writer-in-residence: Valerie Grove is an artist and writer who lived for many years in Japan and the Middle East, including two years in Jerusalem in the mid 90s. She recently returned to London from the United Arab Emirates where she worked as an Arts Consultant in Dubai and catalogue editor for the 9th Sharjah Biennale. She blogged about the art scene in the UAE and the region and also wrote reviews and articles for international arts magazines. From April 9th - 23rd 2010, she was writer-in-residence at Al-Ma'mal where she began 'Al-Ma'mal Retrospective'. The blog then charted the history of the Foundation up to the present. It concluded with a second residency period during the Jerusalem Show IV (October 1st - 10th, 2010) in which all works and participating artists were documented. |
