About me

IntroductionAlia Judith Simpson has been a student and teacher of meditation for more than 30 years. She is a senior teacher and spiritual guide (mentor) in the Institute for Applied Meditation, a spiritual school that emphasizes the use of meditative practices to discover and actualize the purpose of your life - that which you took creation to become and to do. Her own training encompassed more than twenty-five years under the tutelage of the Sufi master Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan, as well as specialized studies in the Buddhist tradition. Alia holds advanced degrees in community health and social science, and is an alumnus of the three-year postgraduate training program of the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland specializing in working with physical process. She is on the adjunct faculty of the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences and the associate faculty of the Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations, both at Case Western Reserve University. She has held executive positions in philanthropy, applied social research, and nonprofit management for more than thirty years.
