Introduction My studio works are based on observations in central Montana's prairie and island mountain ranges. I create murals and functional art for public/private commissions. I've been a visiting artist teacher in public schools in Montana and Oregon (1998-2015). I taught art full-time grades Kindergarten to High school at Heart Butte School (2015-2019). Heart Butte sits against the east-facing foothills of the Rocky Mountains in a remote southern portion of the Blackfeet Native American Reservation in Montana. Other art-related work experience includes: Executive Director, MonDak Heritage Museum/Arts Center (Sidney, MT); Studio Arts Technician, Whitman College Art Department (Walla Walla, WA); Art Columnist, Union Bulletin (Walla Walla, WA); Home/Family Editor, News-Argus (Lewistown, MT.) After college, I continued formal art education at the Alberta College of Art in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. There, I focused on the human form, working from live models in the studio, at theater/dance rehearsals, and the Calgary Foothills Medical School & teaching morgue.
