| Introduction | From my Google profile: I am a self-styled political economist, market analyst, and indigenous freedom party member. Except for the last, these pursuits represent a radical departure from my early career as a hippy-go-lucky buyer and distributor of cannabis, rye, and coca derivatives that took me to many strange and faraway places as a young man. A girlfriend informed me twenty years ago that life wasn't going to be so kind to me forever. I learned later she was right: I needed to do something for money. Thus the change of career paths several years down the road. Nowadays I'm back in San Francisco, too busy to go anywhere. It remains to be seen whether there is any money in applied research in the fields that interest me (e.g., technological convergence, game logic, information states). Here's hoping. |
