Introduction	I write picture books and middle grade novels. Until recently I freelanced for newspapers and magazines after earning a BA in English and American Lit and working on a minor in journalism. I founded the SCBWI critique group: SkyWriters and have had the pleasure of watching members publish. Augusta Scattergood, Greg Neri, Sue LaNeve, JC Kato, and most recently, Sue Lloyd- Davies. Sandra Markle was a member of the critique group for five years after moving to the area and I'm happy for everyone's publishing successes. I'm finally ready to focus only on writing Kid Lit, which is what I've always wanted to do. I spent many years working as a registered nurse.I've published a book on nurses who served during World War II and the Korean and Vietnam Wars. It was my honor to write their stories. I loved nursing, but always wanted to write since I was little. I knew words could heal and when I returned to school to further my education, I kept taking Lit classes, writing courses and journalism classes too until I had a different degree than I'd planned on receiving. I followed my bliss. Now I carry a notebook instead of a stethoscope.I love writing Kid Lit and love reading it too.
