InterestsI am a syndicated advice columnist and author of A Clock a Coffee Pot and a Field of Lilies, and, Finding Hope the Journey of a Battered Wife. I am also a public speaker and serve on the board of directors for two organizations close to my heart. When I am not talking or writing-- you will find me choreographing awesome dance routines or singing show tunes with my children. Life is good. I have been married to a very special man for about a dozen years. Adrian is my hero. I have five amazing children and feel honored to be a mother even when they point out just how dorky I really am.
Favorite moviesHarold and Maude, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Best in Show, Down to Earth, Finding Nemo, Slum Dog Millionaire, Sound of Music, Elf, 7 Pounds, Tangled
Favorite musicI don't like country music very much, but bluegrass and old timey gospel is heaven on a crisp autumn day in the hills of North Georgia. I also like some funky stuff... you know... because I am obsessed about doing the robot.
Favorite booksI devour books like they were chocolate fudge cakes at a PMS convention. I have a lot of favorites but here's a few off the top of my head: I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, Middlesex, Life of Pi, Born on a Blue Day, Angela's Ashes, Joy Luck Club, Water for Elephants, The Glass Castle, Half Broke Horses, Harry Potter, The Red Tent, The Shack, The Poisonwood Bible, To Kill a Mocking Bird, Catcher in the Rye, Goodnight Moon, Fancy Nancy, The Junie B. Jones series, Holes, Kite Runner, Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood, Peony in Love, Mrs. Piggle Wiggle, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Series, The Biggest Book of Questions and Answers, Room, Cutting for Stone, Packing for Mars, and the Hunger Games Series which rendered me useless for two weeks as I could not put the books down and I cried when it was over because I knew I'd miss the characters so much. How lame is that?
