| Introduction | I am a professional author and a natural resource specialist. I enjoy putting to words the natural-resource issues that our species is mired-in today. I believe that Dr. A. M. Samsam Bakhtiari is correct in describing the 21st century as the "Century of Roots." I suspect many people will look to the past--old ways of doing things, for example--to strongly inform their actions in the present. Of course, only time will accurately tell this vast story. Understand that we are in the midst of a change that will probably mark the biggest historical dislocation that civilized humans have ever experienced. Such events as the world wars, the American Civil War and the fall of Rome may, indeed pale in comparison to the situation that is unfolding right now. |
