| Introduction | tuesday photography is photography by loni searl. loni moved to vancouver island in 2001, and in no time knew this was home. The first time she watched the sun rise over the water as she drove down the hill into maple bay, she vowed to never allow herself to become numb to the island's beauty. In 2004 loni met her best friend, conor, and was over the moon when they were married in 2005. In 2009, they were thrilled to have their first little girl, rosa, who has become the subject of many of loni's photos. loni has taken pictures as long as she can remember, her first camera coming from a mcdonalds kids meal! By the time she was a young teenager, her dad saw her blooming interest and taught her the basics of photocomposition. Over the years, her interest in and eye for photography has blossomed, and in 2007, she dove into some formal training. Using an old film Pentax K1000, learning about darkroom developing and the history of photography, she took her creativity back to the basics, laying a solid foundation to build on. loni is passionate about capturing the individuality of people through her images, and hopes to continue this adventure for many, many more years. |
