IntroductionFor months before, during and after my Divorce I worked on a Blog Post- It never ended up getting published but I realized that regardless of the outcome the process of writing this helped me through the otherwise dark months leading up to, and after, my Divorce. Despite the pain I felt the actual Divorce to be a happier day than my Wedding and I celebrated it. It reflected the strength I regained by leaving and staying the course by walking through that discomfort, ultimately transforming me. This documents my experience of ultimately "Celebrating Divorce," the way we celebrate other life transitions. The more I shared my experience I realized how much others could relate and every person I encountered who had been through this process helped shape my journey and impart strength. Regardless of our circumstances we had all learned similar themes, stories spoken in our own words that came from our unique experiences.
InterestsI used to live in black and white. My life has gotten so much bigger over the years that it has colors in it I didn't even know existed. But gray is still my favorite. It represents that space in between absolutes- the rigid all-or-nothings - and reminds me that it’s ok not to know sometimes, because life is lived in the shades between. For a long time I waited to start a blog, I started and stopped many times all because I didn’t see the point, there are so many writers out there already. I am inspired by my favorite author, Elizabeth Gilbert, who speaks about the creative process and how, “yes, it’s all been done before, but never by you.” We all matter and add to the tapestry of life – There are many universal truths we learn along the way and are transformed by hearing others stories. I don’t write with the expectation of teaching anyone, I am not an expert on life by far, but I share my experience to contribute to the tapestry of stories that have shaped me.
