| Introduction | Louise van der Veld (1971) graduated in drawing an painting at D’Witte Lelie in Amsterdam, continued her drawing and painting studies at the Hogeschool van de Kunsten in Amsterdam. Finally she graduated in Textile at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam in 2007. Currently she works as an independent designer and graphic artist. Her work has been exhibited in several galleries. She took part in the exhibition “One line” in gallery Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam. Her work was exhibited twice in the AcademieGalerie in Utrecht, once as part of the exhibition “Vers 1” and once as part of the exhibition “Beauty”. In 2007 she contributed to the AirWorld exhibition in the Stedelijk Musuem in Amsterdam with a shawl. In 2007 she won the first prize in design contest Mooi uit de Brand with her Chick-a-Dee smoke detector design. The smoke detector is expected to be available in stores in the Benelux at the end of 2008 and in 2009 in the rest of the world. |
