| Introduction | I am inspired to tell a story. The stories of my subjects become part of me and are expressed through my work. I explore the dreams, and sometimes nightmares, as dialogues of the unconscious, the conscious, and the wish. All of my paintings exist as a collaboration between this artistic process, the subject, and the largely unseen flow of energy that streams through each person, place, or thing. My job is to communicate that form and energy to the viewer. As a working portrait artist, my portraits of people and animals are in collections all over the world. This work has been featured in one-woman shows as well as collective, juried shows, which have resulted in some awards. I believe that there is no division between life, and art, and that neither ever stop their evolution, and so I approach my work with an open mind and consider art to be an ongoing learning process. |
