| Introduction | For the past 10 years, Maria has dedicated her life’s work to positively impact society in education and health causes. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health and another in Public Administration from Harvard University where she was granted a fellowship in Social Entrepreneurship and is certified as a Montessori Teacher for Infants, Toddlers & Twos by the North American Montessori Center. She is a founding member Fundación Chana y Samuel Levis – an organization that empowers children’s social and emotional intelligence and Mentes Puertorriqueñas en Acción (Puerto Rican Minds in Action)– a movement of young people committed to the socio-economic wellbeing of Puerto Rico. She has served on the Board of Advisors of the Center for the New Economy, National Council for la Raza Kids Count Initiative and the Puerto Rico Association of Fundraising Professionals. She is also a fellow of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, an Alumni of the Rockefeller Foundation’s Philanthropy Workshop and a Representative of the World Forum on Early Childhood Education and Care. |
