Introduction	It was love at first sight, the slight snap as the gas ignited, the bright flame that I could bring to a fine blue point by adding oxygen, the developing red as the steel heated to a molten mass, the uniting of metals, the tiny sparks that seemed at first scary but like most things, if treated with respect, are harmless. All that and more are reasons that I became fascinated with welding. For over 30 years I made and sold my work at art shows, fairs and galleries.
