| Introduction | Writing about a family of gnomes has always seemed a rather strange things to do, certainly if you had told me years ago that I would like doing so, I wouldn't have believed you! As the years have gone by, I have been amazed at how fond of them I have become - and of the contentment I feel in discovering and being part of their world. I trained as a classical musician and opera singer and have been lucky enough to have worked as a voice coach and music teacher ever since. When I first started writing about Hortensia and Archibold I was working in quite a stressful environment, I think that their stories were a kind of creative escapism that quickly became captivating. Writing about the gnomes made me laugh and brought joy into my journey home to a fuller sense of myself, they became all the more precious because of what they reminded me of - and have amazed me ever since! I hope they bring joy to you too! |
