| Introduction | Aleph is a newly-formed international research group with an academic background that spans the fields of Contemporary Art Theory, Cultural Studies, Business and Political Science. Aleph is the product of a combined interest in relational geographies, counter-cartographies and micropolitics and stems from cross-disciplinary studies at Goldsmiths College, University of London. Capital Space provided the starting point - a research project undertaken by members of Aleph supervised by Prof. Irit Rogoff, exploring the affective sub-economies of London Docklands. We approach our research on the premise that sites of knowledge production are shifting and elusive and so require a suitably oblique methodology. Through field study, experimentation and consultation, Aleph aims to examine these sites and their spatial and temporal affect in the context of contemporary cultural practice. Aleph is an open research platform, and we actively encourage contributions that have the possibility of developing meaningful collaborations. Over time, we aim to compile an archive of practice-based research of both academic and non-academic constellations. |
