The first time you had your shoes taken off - how surprised were you to see that you still had toes?
Not exactly clear on the actual question here. Everytime I take off my shoes I kind of expect to see I still have toes. All ten of them to be precise. I would guess genuine surprise would be written all over my face if my shoes were taken off and one of them was missing or there were an extra.
