| Favorite movies | I love movies. My tastes are quite eclectic, although fantasy, period drama, suspense (nb not slasher horror)and comedy (especially British) probably make up the lion's share of my DVD collection. My favourite movie of all time is probably "the Princess Bride". |
| Favorite music | It depends on my mood. While working I can only listen to soundtracks and classical, lyrics distract me. Thropughout the day I can jump from modern indie to 80s cheese, to heavy rock to Scottish jigs and gypsy music. As a teenager I was into heavy metal, and later gothic rock, with a smattering of cheesy stuff. "I will survive" and "Bohemian rhapsody" and my karaoke mainstays. These days my tastes are exclectic - my recent downloads include Adele and Apocalyptica, Garfunkel and Oates and Salsa. In terms of sheer volume of songs on my iPod the bands Queen, Garbage, the Mediaeval Baebes and the Beatles probably top the list. |
| Favorite books | Too many to list but my interests range from classic fantasy (Tolkien, George RR Martin) to humorous (Terry Pratchett, Christopher Moore) and historical fiction (Simon Scarrow, Ariana Franklin, Bernard Cornwell) and classics (especially Jane Austin. Non fiction ranges from the philospohical, historical/archeological to environmental/biological. |
