About me

Location Sandy, Utah
Introduction I was born in 1957 facing a number of health challenges. The first one, Pyloric Stenosis, was corrected the year of my birth. The second, a more dramatic issue, was a congenital heart defect called Tetrology of Fallot. This collection of heart defects were corrected via open heart surgery in 1962 and again in 2002 to close a 2nd septal defect and install a pig valve. The year 2006 was a challenging and perception altering year. In July I took a trip to the ER for a gall bladder attack and subsequent removal of the offending organ. In my routine blood work the Dr.’s discovered something that would change my life: Leukemia - Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) to be specific. So for 4 years I was on what is called “Watch and Wait” (Or as others have called it – “Watch and Worry”). This consists of having blood drawn every 3 months to check the different blood counts and assess the progress of my disease. Now I am in therapy and responding well.
