IntroductionI've sailed most of the North American west coast from Ketchikan to Panama, and from Florida to Panama. I was fist mate aboard Schooner Gallant sailing with Larry Green, Santa Barbara to Puerto Vallarta and back. I sailed the Carribean aboard Gallant from Ft Lauderdale to Panama and up the west coast. I served 1 year in Merchant Marine off the California coast (M/V George M, M/V Wendy Star). I've sailed S/V Savannah over 15,000 miles mainly in local waters around Santa Barbara compiling 8 sailing logbooks and a lifetime of fun and adventure between San Diego and San Miguel Island. Savannah sailed to San Diego for the Ancient Mariners Race on May 7, 2011, stopping at Channel Islands Harbor, Isthmus of Catalina, Marina Del Rey, Newport Beach Harbor and Oceanside along the way or on the way back. The Boat: S/V Savannah, is a Cheoy Lee Lion, made in Hong Kong in 1963. She's a 35 foot solid teak sloop with a 4000 lb. 3/4 length iron keel. I bought her in December, 1983. Her seams are bone dry!
