Introduction | I have been sculpting in polymer clay since 2002. I mostly make small finely detailed sculptures. To date, I have sculpted things from 2-D plaques, miniature post office, small busts and other character pieces. The more I sculpted, the more dissatisfied I became with the existing sculpting tools available. I wished for tools that worked like tiny extensions of my fingers in the tight places of my work or that were small enough to smoothly sculpt fine details. Many tools had noodle-thin handles that were hard to hold and control. Being a firm believer in adapting the tool to fit the sculptor's needs and not the other way around, I put my thinking cap on to find some solutions. I began fabricating my own sculpting tools in 2004, and decided to share them with others, opening Skulptools, innovative line of high quality, hand-crafted, hard and soft tip custom tool designs in summer of 2011. I create my tools with the same care and attention to detail as I do in my sculptures. |
