| Introduction | I'm a maker from a family of makers. I was raised by women who cook and bake, sew and quilt, embroider and needlepoint, garden and carpenter, draw and paint, with the belief that any good thing is better if handmade. I can't say if my compulsion to make comes by nurture or by nature, but it's with me every day. My favorite ways to make things involve yarn and needles, seeds and soil or pots and pans. My husband is a maker, too, and together we are raising three next generation makers. I'm also a teacher (that runs in my family, too) and a scientist. |

Whoops! Your tongue is now a magnet. Whatever will you use for silverware?
I guess this is my opportunity to finally become proficient with chopsticks.
