Introduction	i'm from chicago suburbia, illinois. after finishing my degree in environmental sciences at university of illinois in champaign-urbana last may, i have received an incredible opportunity and privilege to travel around the world. i lived in costa rica from july-nov, and i've been in asia since december, when my grandmother took me as her travel companion to spend christmas in singapore. i have spent much time learning about the state of the material world- the Earth's systems, environmental degradation, society, poverty, all the sufferings of the material world. i was troubled by trying to figure out a way to help, the more i learned about how messed up the world is. i tried environmental activism, socialism, vegetarian activism, but nothing has been so satisfying to my intellect and my heart as studying spirituality, meditation, thus igniting me to seek refuge in learning about the internal world. i have dedicated only so much time during my university to contemplate these manners, but now this is my only focus. i have all the time and resources to explore these deep questions regarding the meaning of life. i'd like to share it with you. =)
