| Introduction | iJourno follows on from the work done by the Greater Manchester Connexions scheme Epal. Groups of all ages meet regularly with journalist Alison Barton, from Bolton, to work on basic journalism skills, from news and feature writing, to research skills and editing. Alison also offers email support to group members. The schemes have been run by Alison for the past six years, both with the Bolton Evening News and on a freelance basis with community groups and schools. Since the close of Greater Manchester Connexions in March 2006, Alison has been running the project, and is looking to expand the scheme in the near future. |
