| Introduction | What motivates this blog and group: The reason I would like to develop a bridging between the fields of science and the humanities is 1) I think they are far too divorced in this prestigious university 2) the knowledge of a foreign culture and its literature provide an indispensable supplement to science in they teach how to decipher rhetorical strategies that underlie texts (and any human representation for that matter); they help us to not only understand the underpinning of human behavior in society, think in terms of relativity, but also soften our outlook on this complex and rather challenging world. 3) Conversely, the humanities would have much to gain from scientific disciplines. |
