Introduction	The picture makers... Anam Cara, Gaelic for “soul friend”, is the collaboration of two self-taught photographers/mothers who realized how quickly the halcyon days of childhood pass. Derrika and Heather create pictures that capture the joy of a child at play or the pure innocence of a tiny, new life in deepest slumber. Their fresh perspective through the camera lens allows you can hold on to a few unique moments forever. Based in historic Chestertown on the beautiful Eastern shore of Maryland, photo sessions take place in the comfort of your own home, on-location or at one of the many beautiful locals in the surrounding area. We create candid, genuine portraits by utilizing available natural light. There are no intrusive flashes to startle a newborn babe or tireless efforts to place squirming toddler under bright lights. We hope to make your photo session fun and comfortable resulting in images that are artistically inspired, honest and a true reflection of the essence your child or family.
