Introduction	When Tim lost his Richmond, Va., job in the energy sector in March 2010, we had a daylong pity party. After we regained our composure, we realized this was our chance to uproot and test out life somewhere else — ideally Texas. Why the Lone Star State? Sarah's been obsessed with Texas since childhood (for reasons unknown even to her); economist Tim knew there were crazy amounts of jobs down there; and Nigel loves the DVD Elmo's Wild Wild West. That, and it was either move or starve.
