| Introduction | In 2007 I left the security of a 24 year govt job to pursue other interests. I'd always loved to write, so I enrolled in some writing courses, and left Perth to discover the rest of the world. Living off my savings - which don't last long when you're travelling through Europe - I decided to settle in Bangkok. Why Bangkok? I'd spent 8 months here in the past few years, feel very much at home here, and know my way around pretty well. Plus, it seems the ideal centrally located city from which to travel, and it has all the facilities I need and want right now. As travel writing is my main focus, Thailand seems a perfect choice. So many places to see and things to do, from the mountainous areas up north to the balmy beaches in the south - and everything in between. SO, here I am with an apartment leased for a year, ready to make a new career out of freelance writing. |

| Favorite movies | Foreign films, especially French, arthouse, documentaries, and everything in between that entertains or enlightens. |
| Favorite music | Love all music. Since spending 2 months in Bali in 2008, I love to listen to Balinese music while I work. Also love Oz music, Eagles, Coldplay; just depends on my mood. My IPOD touch has a great selection, and I've usually got something playing when I'm home. |
| Favorite books | A lover of fiction and classics all my life, I've now gravitated to non-fiction. Anything to do with writing and techniques that can help me. Lots of self help and travel books. Read magazines galore, esp travel, to get a feel for what people want, and to admire a well crafted travel story. |
