| Introduction | My interest in art began in my early school years and continued to grow throughout my high school years. However, my art interest was put on hold shortly thereafter when I went into the USAF. I did not pursue art during the 14 ½ years I was in the Air Force. Also, I was essentially inactive in art during the 26 ½ years that followed when I was a Digital (DEC) employee. |
| Interests | After I took Digital’s early retirement package in May 1992 I attended my first watercolor class at the Acton Senior Center. That revived my art interest and I subsequently attended an evening education course. When my son relocated to Santa Clara, California; he left me a set of oil and acrylic paints. I attended an acrylic painting course and did a painting. However, I found that I my interest was drawn to watercolor painting. I found this media was very challenging and that you never stop learning. After retiring from Digital, I was an antique dealer for ten years but I continued to maintain my interest in watercolor painting. During this period I attended semester on watercolor painting at Framingham State College. The following year I enrolled in a two- year watercolor painting correspondence course at North Light Art School. Since then I have taken several of Acton’s Senior Center sponsored watercolor classes. My subject matter preferences are inclined toward landscapes, but I also enjoying painting still life, flowers, animals, and portraits. |
