About me

IntroductionA sophomore at a university in Taiwan. I was born in London, United Kingdom. This sounds interesting, but I indeed experienced a high level of frustration in my childhood. In the 6 years after my birth, I grew up in a multicultural city, and most people there were friendly to people who looked foreign. Interestingly, my first culture shock occurred in my early years, when I arrived in Taiwan and was settling down. It takes time to cope with culture shock, and sometimes moving into a cultural environment that is different from one’s own is difficult. In addition to the unfamiliar culture and different ways of learning, I remember the strong feeling of disorientation I experienced. The greatest difficulty that I had ever encountered in my learning journey happened during my one-year study in Canada. At first, being in an all-English environment was an enormously difficulty to overcome. The education approach in Canada was completely different from that in Taiwan. These experiences in overcoming my weakness, summarized in the preceding paragraphs, granted me significant confidence to plan a challenging career specified in English that I was going to pursue.
