| Introduction | My first novel, STAR CRAVING MAD (Warner Books, 2004) is available in the US, Japan and Indonesia. It was optioned for a movie by Lucky Crow Films. It used to be optioned by Maverick, which is Madonna's company. Cool, right? I thought we’d meet, become fast friends, hit the Paris fashion shows (Gwynnie could come too) and have playdates with Lola and Rocco (and Apple and Moses). But it didn't happen. What went wrong? It's slightly possible she's never even heard of my book. I've performed at Heeb Magazine's The Shmoth (a good night; I drank a margarita and then found out I was pregnant), and have read excerpts in NYC at Fez (don't order the chocolate martini—too alcoholy), Makor, HERE, KGB (lots of stairs), Boudoir Bar, Galapogos (so hip), Lucky 13 and Halcyon (nice lamps). Before I had kids, I hosted and curated East Side Oral (the reading series your mother warned you about) at The Living Room on NYC's lower east side. I had my first kid in 2004 and my second in 2006. I live and write in Suburbia, PA. |
