Azithromycin and periodontal treatment

Introduction	I am a periodontist working in the School of Dentistry, University of Adelaide. I also have a private practice limited to Periodontics. My interest in azithromycin as an adjunct to periodontal treatment was sparked in 2008 when I found that it turned around cases of advanced periodontitis with very poor prognoses. Since then I have found that azithromycin has periodontal regenerative effects without the need for complex periodontal treatment. I have set up this blog to enable colleagues who have prescribed azithromycin to share their clinical experiences online.
