| Introduction | Just before I turned 33, when I was about half way through my pregnancy, I lost my natural mother in a freak road accident. I'd only known her 8 years as I was adopted as a baby. It was the worst thing I think I had ever had to deal with. It made me a little bit paranoid; and then my worst fears came true - my partner, Robin, was killed on his way home from work in a motorbike crash. It was my last day at work before maternity leave. Our daughter was born 18 days later. That was in 2005. This blog is about my life since; being a single mum, a widow, an artist in the making and generally finding my way in life. |
