Introduction I am moderately severely deaf. My left ear is very beautiful (see photo) but does not function so an aid in that ear is of no use. My right ear needs a hearing aid. I have difficulty hearing group gatherings of more than three people particularly if there is background noise. I want to explore listening devices allow me to join conversations in pubs, restaurants, group gatherings etc and to enjoy lectures and guided tours of interesting buildings etc. I am wondering if you might possibly be interested in a book I have just published. It is called Stretchers Not Available and its about the WW2 work of my Dad who was a GP during the Blitz on 1940. He kept a diary and wrote letters to my mother. He describes what it is like to live and work while the bombs are dropping all around. In 1944 he was called up into the army and joined the commandos on the Adriatic Isnad of Vis where he set up a hospital and had an exciting and interesting times with the partisans and wounded men, British and American. You can see/buy the book on Amazon. It is a firsthand account - these are always better than tales which are retold.
