| Introduction | WHAT IS CKF AND THE KOLPING MOVEMENT: CKF is the newest member of the Kolping family, a group of 12 founders who are members of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish and who have received education and training about Father Kolping and his movement to help young journeymen. The movement is based on the concept of help for self help. In 1991 Kolping was beatified in Rome by Pope John Paul II. OUR MISSION: The CKF will work to strengthen our members’ faith while reaching out to young people, including foster children, to help them find purpose and direction in professional training and life. We support each other in our family, lives and faith and demonstrate our Catholic Christianity in the way we handle our personal, civic, work and family life. TO BECOME INVOLVED: CKF members can explain the training and education they have received about Father Kolping and the movement he founded. It is open to all Christians interested in helping young people prepare for professions, including overcoming barriers and difficulties. |
