| Introduction | I have worked for eight years in public libraries, and I earned my Master of Library and Information Sciences degree with a Graduate Academic Certificate in Storytelling from the University of North Texas in 2008. In addition to being a librarian, I am the mom of a wonderful daughter who will start kindergarten next fall. A lyric from the King & I by Rogers and Hammerstein sums it up for me: "If you become a teacher, by your pupils you'll be taught." |
| Interests | Books, The Internet, Theatre, Poetry, Friendship, Family, Feminism |
| Favorite movies | Musicals, comedies, and chick flicks tend to fill this category (Chicago, The Producers, Love Actually, When Harry Met Sally). I also respect well-written, thought-provoking films, too (Shawshank Redemption, 500 Days of Summer, Inception, Memento). My favorite to watch with my daughter is probably The Incredibles. |
| Favorite music | Broadway musicals and jazz tend to have my heart, although I do favor a few more easy-listening sentimental favorites, too. |
| Favorite books | That is the purpose of this blog! My favorite kids books for ages 3-5 are featured here. Keep reading to watch the list grow! (Yes, this is like a Chia Pet of literacy). |
