| Introduction | I was born in Wajo, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Since 1995, I am a lecturer at the Faculty of Islamic Theology and Philosophy, "Alauddin" State Islamic University of Makassar. I completed my undergraduate degree in Islamic Philosophy at the same university in 1993, obtained my first M.A. in International Development Studies from Dalhousie University, Canada in 2001 and my second M.A. in Islamic studies from Temple University, Philadelphia, USA, in 2004. In June 2015, I completed my PhD in Anthropology in the School of Culture, History and Language, College of Asia and the Pacific, at the Australian National University, Canberra. |
