| Introduction | I wanted to be an astronomer when I was a kid, but they didn't have that major at the University of Maine. Backpacking in the Grand Canyon convinced me to major in Geology instead. I worked on rocks and then mountain snowpack before going to grad school in Atmospheric Science and finding a career in between the rocks and space. After 30 years as a climate scientist I've retired to "just" teaching at CSU, Yale, and on Semester at Sea. Jennifer and I spend many summer weekends in the rarefied air of the Snowy Mountains of Wyoming |
