Introduction | Grew up in a neighborhood(say Bundelkhand) where all they cared about was a proper supply of water. Was good at playing marbles. Never flew a kite. Thought flying a kite is the most glamorous thing until a friend trisected his calf bone, courtesy a flying kite. Never been comfortable playing short pitched in-swingers. Can bowl and clock up 144Kph perfect wides. Stole several mangoes while returning from school (of course it was fantastic team work); got caught a couple of times but never felt an ounce of guilt.Stood first in class only once, and that too by cheating. Seldom travelled by train with a ticket until fined three consecutive times.Never ever sat on the front bench. Never disturbed teachers during my sleep, or rather they were kind enough not to disturb me in the classroom. Sold movie tickets in black only to be confronted by an informally dressed policeman whom I approached to sell the ticket. Always wondered about the application of Differentiation and Nuclear Physics in day-to-day life. Hate wearing shoes… |

Favorite Movies | the 400 blows, cinema paradiso, run lola run, city of god, chocolat, a clockwork orange, 12 angry men, one flew over the cuckoo's nest, memento, Li'l Miss Sunshine, oye lucky lucky oye, gulaal. And the works of Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorsese, Dibakar Banerjee, Tarantino, Vishal Bhardwaj, Prakash Jha, Anurag Kashyap, Coen Brothers, Majid Majidi, and many others who are not so famous and contributing to cinema in a larger way.I'm biased for Kubrick and regard him as the best.[ The reason he's mentioned among all the contemporary film-makers ] He lives to inspire almost all of the above mentioned. |
