Introduction	Peace Tree Day, founded by Mitra Sen, the director of the award-winning film The Peace Tree was proclaimed on June 1, 2006 by Mayor David Miller of the City of Toronto. Peace Tree Day, is a festival of peace, diversity and fusion through the arts by children and youth. It is also a time for young people to create innovative forms of art through dance, music and visual arts in order to contribute to children less fortunate around the world.
