| Favorite music | right now/of late: william basinsky and his lot, phillip jeck, tv on the radio, coco rosie, obscure [to me] tango things, billie holliday (forever), edith piaf (when i feel especially like a fey old man), beethoven (hell yes), bela bartok (ohhhhhh), bach (yeah me too), elgar (jacqueline du pres kills me), iron and wine when i can't sleep, all kinds of no wave compialations when i can, 70s era Eno, Can (ha), WIRE (yessss), Gang of Four (for mischief and the kicking of things), LOVE (ever and always), sly stone and his crew, marvin gaye, al green, curtis mayfield (curtis!), maghreb music in general, bring on the cheesy-fantastic algerian/turkish dancy brigade, horrible dancy-fantastic things (i've made a newfound lovin' foray into the land of ridiculous dance splendor, and i am not coming back. so ha.)...this is paltry, incomplete, and likely vexing. |
