| Introduction | Having more than 20 years experience painting portraits, I know the most rich and accurate portraits can be painted in just a few sweeps of a brush. Silhouettes push this concept by omitting skin color, hair color, eye color, even attire, leaving only the basic essence of that person for a viewer to recognize. That is why I often refer to silhouettes as portraits of the soul. |
