If I were scripting this tale 15 years back, trust me, I'd have dished out all the wrong stuff. Life has a way of humbling you, and oh boy, have I been humbled. Picture this: a corporate warrior, strutting through the manicured lawns of a suburban dreamland right on the fringes of Washington DC. Single momming it like a boss. Yeah, that was my story back then. I'd brag about the plush corporate gig, the picturesque city, and my journey from the 19-year-old homegirl birthing her firstborn to the sought-after corporate queen with a paycheck that screamed success. Fast forward to now—49, just a whisper away from the big 5-0. The city I called my sanctuary, where I knew the ins and outs like the back of my hand? Now, the only familiar face is my property manager. Life is funny like that. What was once my escape is now the canvas upon which I'll paint the masterpiece of ME.
