Went off to college to get a B.F.A. - married my high school sweetheart, love of my life, with whom I still live - Had a wonderful son, who taught me to climb, after teaching me to be a mother - got a graduate degree in education, taught classroom, tutored the three R's, taught art to elementary kids - I hope to keep active as long as I can. |

| Favorite books | I started reading very early, probably about age 4, and the list of books I've read is so long, I've been able to start re-reading them lately. Recent favorites: Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell, Death of a River Guide by Richard Flanagan, Cloudstreet by Tim Winton, The Colony of Unrequited Dreams by Wayne Johnston, HUGE FAVORITE: Independent People, by Halldor Laxness - more later... Found Elizabeth Bowen, fiction and non-fiction, Re-read Melville's Moby Dick, Have read much of John Updike's fiction, some of his art criticism |
