| Introduction | The Florida Movement Choir/A Celebration of Arts in Education is a site-specific performance event created to unite the college and university arts programs of Florida through the state's diverse waterways. Water is more than a geological link; it's also a metaphor for life's flow, for the inevitability of change and for the essential human need for connection. From the Panhandle to Jacksonville, Gainesville to Tampa, Palm Beach to Miami, Florida has nationally recognized undergraduate and graduate arts programs as well as an extensive system of magnet schools with quality training in the arts. We will be creating a performance with dance, music and visual art that will unite Florida geographically, a state often fractured by regional differences, by showcasing the depth and breadth of the arts in its educational institutions. Simultaneous performances will be happening at each location based on the common theme of water but with individual interpretations.
